Scholarship schemes open for 2012/2013
The Roma Education Fund (REF) would like to announce that it is accepting online applications for two of its four main scholarship schemes for the next academic cycle 2012-2013. The deadline for applications for RMUSP is 15 May, 2012 and for 11 May 2012.
Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically awarded for the subsequent academic year. However, students can apply for renewal based on successful completion of the prior academic year. Scholarship schemes support Roma students pursuing studies obtaining Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree.
REF’s Scholarship Program offers merit-based open competition academic scholarships for all countries of the Decade of Roma Inclusion (except Spain), as well as for Moldova, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Last year, REF granted 1,497 scholarships out of 2,451 total applications.

Roma Memorial University Scholarship Program
The Roma Memorial University Scholarship (RMUSP) is for eligible Roma students at the university level.
The amount of the annual RMUSP scholarship grant is calculated on the basis of 80 EURO per academic month. The RMUSP scholarships must be used to cover textbooks, exam fees and partially living expenses. If funds permit, the RMUSP scholarship may, at its sole discretion, also cover partial or full tuition fee expenses, however, the total amount of the grant shall in no case exceed 2,000 EUR, combined by 800 EUR basic scholarship per academic year plus the tuition fee.
Please note that there is no guarantee that the scholarship amount will cover partial or full tuition for a successful applicant. The scholarships are not automatically awarded for the subsequent academic year; scholars can apply for renewal subject to successful completion of the prior academic year.
Law and Humanities Program
The Roma Education Fund Scholarship Program (REF/SP) and “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” Foundation (EVZ) announces the opening of the scholarship cycle for the Law and Humanities Program (LHP) scheme for eligible Roma students at the university level in Moldova, Ukraine and Russia for 2012-2013 academic year. The funds for Law and Humanities Program come from the Remembrance, Responsibility and Future Foundation (EVZ) and the Roma Education Fund.
